During 2014, Massachusetts detectives & criminal investigators; police & sheriff’s patrol officers; and probation officers earned average wages of $67,400, $60,600, and $67,600, respectively.

Police & sheriff’s patrol officers are expected to see about 630 new job postings annually. Although forensic science technicians are not predicted to have must employment growth, they earned $70,600, which was higher than the national average.
